​Seeking to create a new and complete end of life supply chain network within the UK by developing significant reuse, remanufacturing and recycling routes for 2nd life automotive Li-ion batteries.

​ABOUT VALUABLE

​Electric vehicles are propelled by battery packs containing many battery cells.  When the battery packs age their charging capacity can depreciate and no longer become efficient for automotive propulsion. 

There are opportunities to continue using these batteries by either remanufacturing the automotive packs, or by utilising the good battery cells in alternative applications.​​
​
The Value Chain and Battery Lifecycle Exploitation (VALUABLE - 104182) project is aiming to develop commercially viable metrology and testing processes, along with new supply chain concepts for the recycling, reuse and remanufacturing of automotive lithium-ion batteries.
